Publishing SuperGIS Server Geo-processing Service

This chapter demonstrates how to publish a geo-process map service step by step. A geo-process map service is a service provided by SuperGIS Server that allows users to perform GIS analysis online. Before publishing a geo-process map service, users have to publish a valid map service and then publish the target process.

A geo-process map service allows users to perform a GIS analysis online such as buffer analysis and network analysis, or a set of GIS analyses such as select features within a buffer range of a specific feature.

Before publishing any geo-process map service, please design your own process by using Process Designer of the SuperGIS Desktop. Save the process and the necessary map layers as a SGD project file. Then store the SGD project file and the related map files on a machine which can be accessed by SuperGIS Server. Please refer to chapter “Creating SGD File” to prepare project. Here are the steps to publish a geo-process map service:

Publish a Geo-Process Map Service

1.First of all, publish the map project you built as map service. Please refer to chapter “Publishing Map Service” for detailed workflow.

2.Select the published map service in the "Published Services" area, and click "Config" below to configure the map service.

3.Switch to "Processing"tab and check the "Publish the following processes" box. Make sure all the processes designed in SGD file are listed in the area below.

4.Click “Done” to publish the geo-process map service.

NOTEMost of the Geo-processing services need layer data, so we need to publish Processing Service as Feature Service to have SuperGIS Server build GID field for layer property automatically so that the data can be obtained. If the layer you adopt include GID field, you can choose to publish Processing Service as Feature Service or not. Please refer to chapter “Publishing Feature Service” (LINK) to know how to publish feature service.
