Publishing Map Service

 

 

This section will teach you how to publish map service in SuperGIS Server step-by-step. Map service is the most basic type of GIS service; when users access the map service through the front-end application, they can not only navigate the map but also overlap other layers from the local host on front-end or query the attribute data of the layers included in the map service.

 

Before publishing map services, please make your map data into SGD project file in SuperGIS Desktop and then locate the map data and SGD project file to the machine that SuperGIS Server can access. At last, start to publish the map service.

 

 

Publish map service:

Follow steps below to publish map service:

 

1.Start SuperGIS Server Manager, input account, password and linking information to login server.

2.After you login successfully, click “Publish a map services” in the welcome page.

3.Choose path in “Folders” to save the service you intend to publish. Please choose a folder and click “Add” to add a new folder in the one you chose.

4.Click “Add” in “Published Services” to add a new SuperGIS Server service.

5.In “”Publish New Service, enter the service name in “Name” and enter the service title in “Title”, and brows or enter the path of SGD project file in Documents. After the settings are set up, click OK and publish the map service.

6.Service publishing is accomplished. After that, in “Published Services”, you can check the service you just published. Click on the service and then click “Config”, if such service is valid, it switches to the service setting page and you can set up the service details.

 

 

Quick Publishing of Map Service

 

SuperGIS Server also provides users with quick publishing function to publish map service. Therefore, users can publish a new map service under “Resources” root directory. To do so, please follow steps below:

 

1.Run SuperGIS Server Manager, and enter user account, password and on-line information to log in on the server.

2.Click “Publish a Map Service” on the main page.

3.Click “Add” in “Published Services” to add a new SuperGIS Server service.

4.In “”Publish New Service, enter the service name in “Name” and enter the service title in “Title”, and brows or enter the path of SGD project file in Documents. After the settings are set up, click “OK” and publish the map service.

5.Service publishing is accomplished. After that, in “Published Services”, you can check the service you just published. Click on the service and then click “Config”, if such service is valid, it switches to the service setting page and you can set up the service details.

 

 

Note: Map Service can be used to create the regular map website or to publish some special types of GIS services. In addition, after the map service is accessed by the front-end software that supports, such as SuperGIS Desktop or SuperPad, users can overlap it with the layers from local host machine under the internet service environment.
