Example 2: Estimate Un-sampled Points with Parameters

In Example 1, we have practiced how to process data analysis and estimations with defaults. Users need not understand data structure or data correlation to set up the parameters and better results can still be obtained. However, if we do not consider the characteristics of these point data during our estimation process, we may not be able to obtain a proper estimation to better describe the data structure. Therefore, In Example 2, we are going to learn:

How to prefect the estimation result of Example 1

Basic concepts of geostatistics

In this example, we are also going to use Kriging estimation methods to estimate the un-sampled points with parameter settings to better fit data characteristics through simple judgments on data trend.

1.First of all, start Spatial Statistical Analyst Toolbar and click Kriging to pop up Choose Input Data window.

2.Set up the “Name”, “Input Data”, “Value”, “X Field”, and “Y Field” of data source.

3.Click Next to adjust the data input.
