About SuperGIS Server KML Service

KML(Keyhole Markup Language) is a standard open file format, it describes and records the regular GIS geographic data of point, line and polygon as well as the contents by annotation and it can be presented through the Google series software(Google Earth and Google Map).

KML records a variety of map data, including the general vector data, raster data, map properties, 3D modeling, landmarks, etc. Since KML is the Keyhole Markup Language created based on XML syntax, you are able to directly produce or change KML file using simple text editor. As to the way to generate and develop KML, please directly link to Google official website for related help https://developers.google.com/kml/documentation/kml_tut.

The web map services provided by SuperGIS Server can be used to create Ultra, Flex and Silverlight website, or to publish OGC service. More, the map service can also be published as KML map service in SuperGIS Server. The KML map service allows front-end users to download KML file to personal computer through regular web browsers and navigate or view the service with related Google software.

Please note that, KML service takes the complete service layer information, so you need to apply the usable SuperGIS Server Feature Service when publishing KML service.
