Creating Bing Maps Map Website

 

 

One Bing Maps website sample is available in SuperGIS Server, and we will take it for illustration in this chapter. This example is illustrated with Windows Server 2003 operating system.

 

1.Right-click on My Computer and select Manage.

 

2.In Computer Management window navigate to "Services and Applications"> "Internet Information Services(IIS) Manager"> "Website"> right-click "Default Website"and select "Virtual Directory."

 

3.Virtual Directory wizard shows up and click "Next."

 

4.Enter the virtual directory name in Alias and click "Next."

 

5.In Path click Browse and select the BingMap folder under SuperGIS Server installation directory (BingMap folder is located in C:\Program Files\SuperGeo\Server\ClientAPI\BingMap by default). Click "Next."

 

6.Check "Read"on the permission page and click "Next."

 

7.Click "Complete" and the Bing Maps map website is accomplished.

 

 

NOTE: If your operating system is Windows Server 2008, please right-click on "Default Website" and choose "Add Application" instead of "Add Virtual Directory." Or you can copy BingMap website directory, paste to the location you want and then select the location of BingMap directory in step 5 when creating virtual directory.
