Creating the Map for Web Map Service

Before you publish a SuperGIS Server Service, the map contents of the service should be prepared first. Currently SuperGIS Server supports the map file format: SuperGIS Desktop Documents (*.SGD),  SuperGIS Layer Document (*.SLR) and SuperWebGIS Project (*.SWG).

SuperGIS Desktop Documents(*.SGD) is the standard format to generate the map project in Desktop GIS-SuperGIS Desktop 3.2. It records the related information about the maps and the settings in Desktop GIS, which allows users to import the settings to another machine or reload the file.

SuperGIS Layer Document (*.SLR) is the standard format to generate layer project in Desktop GIS-SuperGIS Desktop 3.2. It records the file path, properties settings, etc.  Different from *.SGD, *.SLR format records the related layer information only like display settings of layers. SLR project belongs to the subset of SGD project; SLR avoids from repeatedly setting the identical layer in different map project.

SuperWebGIS Project (*.SWG) is the standard format to generate the map project in Web Map Server software-SuperWebGIS. The file format is XML(eXtensible Markup Language), so it can be edited with the editors that support XML. The new SuperGIS Server completely supports the layer settings and properties in *.sgd, including layer, legend, color and style, and partially supports *.slr and *.swg.

To generate the map file for SuperGIS Server you need to operate on the computer which installed with SuperGIS Desktop or SuperWebGIS.
