Vocabulary about Dimension

Dimension Line (feature) is formed by different annotation elements shown in an anatomical drawing below:

Dimension Line Point: The start point of the dimension line. By dimension line point, length of the extension line would be defined.

Text Point: The point that is used to set text position along the dimension line. Text Point is usually positioned at the midpoint of the dimension line, on which the length between the Begin Dimension Point and the End Dimension Point is annotated as the text.

Base Line: A straight line which connects Begin Dimension Point and End Dimension Point

Extension Line: The Extension Line is the vertical line of the Baseline which stretches based on Begin Dimension Point/ End Dimension.

Extension Line Angle: The angle formed by intersection of an Extension Line and a Dimension Line. The default value is 90 degree.

Dimension Line: Dimension Line which is positioned between the two Extension Lines is mainly used to indicate the length measured. A Dimension Line has two ends illustrated as arrow markers and is vertical to Extension Line.
