About Landscape Analysis

Landscape Analysis provides with various metrics to generate the analysis data. There metrics provided include three different levels in landscape ecology, Patch, Class, and Landscape.

Patch: It reflects the characters of a single patch in the landscape, which could act as the foundation to further compute other indices.

Class: It reflects the structural characters for different patches in the landscape.

Landscape: It reflects the overall structural characters in the landscape.

With the three levels, the Landscape Analysis will effectively classify the parameters and create the required basis for survey.

The three levels respectively contain a number of indices. Landscape metrics offers various index analyses, including hundreds of mathematical formulas in total.

The high connection exists between indices, though their concerns differ. When users completely understand the ecological meaning indicated by each index and the focus of landscape structure that it reflects, they can choose the suitable metrics and indices by checking the checkboxes to get the result fitting their requirements.
