In recent years, the raising consciousness of recreational agriculture and the increasingly number of tourists enjoying in-depth tour have promoted the agriculture e-tour in Taiwan. Therefore, the development of technical applications has been emphasized. The mobile guide system is one of the applications.  

In order to help tourists around the world to promptly obtain the information of agriculture, natural ecosystem, history, and culture, and tourist information of accommodation, cuisine, local specialty in Taiwan, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Taiwan develops the mobile guide system integrating mobile communication and geography information services. With the mobile guide system, people can enjoy the on-line tour guide with the mobile devices providing position function of GPS(AGPS), QRCode decoding and camera function, such as PDA, 3G mobile phone, smart phone, etc.      

The agriculture guide system applies SuperGIS Mobile Engine as the core of the system development. Integrating with e-map and e-book, the user-friendly mobile guide system is developed. This system mainly contains two functions—map guide and scenic spot introduction.  

Map guide provides basic GIS functions, such as zoom in/out, query, etc. With the GPS positioning function, users can accurately handle the current direction and the correction location of each scenic spot. 

Scenic spot introduction contains abundant tourist information, covering agriculture, natural ecosystem, geographic environment, history, etc. Also, on-site photos and audio guide are provided for tourists to facilitate tourists to learn the natural and human background more.
