Due to the traffic congestion and delay, traffic issues have become one of the public’s main concerns. Taipei City Government provides a great number of parking lots, bus and MRT services, traffic event reporting system, Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) monitoring system and Changeable Message Signals (CMS) and so on. Most of the transportation information containing relevant spatial information in different file formats stores on different servers. Consequently, it would be inconvenient to manage and utilize these transportation data.

Therefore, to implement an information system integrating the available traffic information to alleviate traffic congestion, to suggest a better route, and to assist the government to decide the best transportation plan would solve the existing problem and benefit both the public and the related agencies. |

The different transportation data from different agencies, however, hardly are integrated that makes the usage of the data inconvenient.
